Kasper Lage, PhD
Director of Bioinformatics, MGH; Associate Professor, Surgery, HMS
Kasper Lage is a computational biologist and geneticist with appointments at MGH where he also leads a bioinformatics program in the Department of Surgery. He is an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School and a member of the Leadership Group of the Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. Doing science to help patients has long motivated Lage, who has been involved in several biopharmaceutical start-up companies. One company, Orphazyme, has just gone public. He co-founded Intomics, a bioinformatics firm, consults for several major pharmaceutical companies and is completing an Executive MBA at MIT’s Sloan School of Management where he was a awarded a Sloan Leadership Fellowship. He received his PhD in bioinformatics and genetics from the Technical University of Denmark and holds a Master’s degree in health sciences from the University of Copenhagen.
